I was working from home today, and we had an unusual afternoon of sunshine, so I decided it was time to let the chickens roam in the yard for a while on their own. After a few hours, they had gathered back in the coop and run so I decided to close them in. When I went to close the door, I found they had rewarded me for their freedom with our first egg! Just sitting there in the dirt. I was very eggcited! It was a little small and oddly shaped, but that's to be eggspected, apparently.
