I'm not sure John Lennon had chickens in mind when he wrote the song, but Bossie may be getting some instant karma for her mean pecking. Actually, she's been behaving herself a bit lately, so we've started calling her Cleo. Well, a couple of days ago her lower beak started jutting off to the side, and now it is pretty pronounced. A little search on the internet and we found that it is called scissor beak, and there's no cure. It can affect their ability to eat and drink (and peck eyes!) so we'll hope she can still live a happy chicken life with her differently-abled mouth. Let this be a lesson to us all!
