Cousins from across the pond

Katie Power ( 22 y.o. granddaughter of Eileen and Jim Tobin of Cappoquin Ireland) had to make an unscheduled stop in the Big Apple one week ago today and has been in NY Presbyterian of Queens (the old Booth Memorial Hospital) since. Her Mom Kitty (Joe's wife) and sister Jeanette arrived the next day from Ireland and have been staying at Mike & Sue's house. Jeanette flew back to Dublin on the 21st. Mike, Sue and Kate have done a fantastic job keeping Kitty in good hands while she remains in NY spending everyday, all day in the hospital with Katie. We are keeping our fingers crossed Katie will be out of the hospital in the next day or two. It has been wonderful spending time with Katie, Jeanette and Kitty - too bad it has been under these circumstances. But, we are hoping when Katie gets released from the hospital, they may stick around a day or two and maybe see some sights. Katie was in San Francisco for 2 months, just passing through NY on her journey home when she got ill and had to be hospitalized. Maybe a beer at a local pub in Bellerose when Katie gets out will help put this experience behind her.
