John is feeling a bit better this morning and that nasty fever seems to be gone, at least for now. I figured it was viral, but took him to Urgent Care yesterday late in the day since his fever just wouldn't go below 101, even with lots of tylenol. The doctor said his tonsils were enormous, but his strep test was negative. Given the tonsils and the fever, he prescribed an antibiotic. Not sure if that's why John feels better this morning, or if it is a coincidence (cuz that would be fast!). But I'm glad he's on the mend. Danny now has a nasty cough, but doesn't seem to have a fever and it isn't slowing him down. There was a serious lack of sleep going on here this weekend too!
We were so sad not to be able to travel east to marlborough. John kept sitting up with half-mast bloodshot eyes, red cheeks, and saying "I swear I feel better, we can go!" Danny's solution "Let's go without John!!" Nice.
I hope the Sunnybank babies are feeling better and that Meag/Andy had some fun in the city once the name mix-up was fixed!
OK...speaking of germs....the one bright spot of our weekend was a call from the children's librarian at our town library (where we are, perhaps, the most frequent customers!). She told me that John had won the "Joke of the Week" contest and his joke will be posted in the childrens section throughout the week. This is an honor John has been DYING to win. His joke:
- Where does bacteria go on vacation?
A: Germ-any!
Turned out to be quite fitting that he won with a joke about germs this week!
Hope everyone else is well. Good luck with the chickens Patti!
