On Sunday we went to Curacao, then yesterday to Bonaire. Curacao was lovely. We went to a dance performance and I got dragged onstage. Holly couldn't figure out how to work the camera, so she captured the whole spectacle on video. A couple of people on the ship have recognized me. If the internet connection is a little faster tonight I'll upload some pictures. Bonaire isn't very developed. It's mostly a resort for divers. Our cab driver's parents came from Brooklyn and her sister went to college in Boston. These islands are all Dutch colinies, and they speak four languages: English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiemento. The latter is a combination of the first three. In Aruba the Dutch influence is most pronounced, in Curacao English and in Bonaire, Spanish.
Today we're at sea and tomorrow we land on the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic.
Have a great season, John!
